SMART-BIT® Deck Screw Depth Setter is designed to make fastening decks, drywall, and general screw setting easier and faster, with clean and uniform results: perfectly set screws every time. The tool is adjustable so that it can be used with many different screw types and sizes, and features an Auto-Stop™ mechanism that sets the screw at the target depth without stripping the screw recess. A free spinning stop collar with rubber O-ring protects the work surface from damage or marking.
The Depth Setter works with both Phillips® and Torx® bits and is designed for use with a full range of Starborn fasteners. The Depth Setter also works well with other fastener products.
SMART-BIT® Pre-drilling and Countersinking Tool: designed for decking and general woodworking. The tool features a pre-set countersink, a free spinning stop collar to protect the work surface, and replaceable Powerbolic® fluted drill bits that cut through decking more than twice as fast as standard wood bits.
HEADCOTE® 305 and DECKFAST® Stainless 305 compatible: The countersink profiles of Smart-Bit tools are precisely matched to Headcote® and Deckfast® Stainless screws. For materials that require pre-drilling, especially hardwoods, this product combination makes it easy to achieve a clean and professional finish.
INSTRUCTIONS The hole is complete when the collar stops spinning. To clean the debris cavity, hold the free-spinning stop collar in one hand and run the drill away from the work surface. The waste material will simply eject itself.
EXTENDING THE LIFE OF THE DRILL BIT: To extend the life of the drill bit, drill in a straight and stable fashion. Two-handed operation is highly recommended. Drilling into ipé or similarly dense materials can be hard work. Rest as needed and don't sacrifice stability for speed!
